The Greater Ontario California Convention & Visitors Bureau (GOCAL) via the Greater Ontario Sports & Entertainment Authority (GOSEA) entered into an agreement to manage the California Sports Hall of Fame (CASHOF) as of February 2023. After several years of working with Founder Christian Okoye to host events and promote this non-profit organization we mutually agreed this was the best way to prepare for the future. With our marketing platforms and management tools we feel the next five years will bring much success to the CASHOF!
There are several city, sport specific, or school sport hall of fames in the State of California, but only one official CASHOF, representing the professional sports athletes and media of the state. We are proud to take on the role of management and prepare for the opening of the Museum to be built and open in the next few years in Ontario, California. GOCAL is the official marketing destination organization to welcome visitors to our region, creating an economic impact, and soon this museum will be added to the list of regional destinations. In addition, the residents of the local community will have the opportunity to educate and celebrate some of the biggest names in the sports industry.
As of 2023, over one hundred (100) professionals in the sports field have been inducted into the CASHOF. Each year another four (4) to six (6) inductees will be honored. Two annual fund-raising events, an inductee gala and golf tournament, will continue. In addition, we will research and create new platforms and events to raise funds for the organization.
Our goal continues, including the introduction of a new scholarship program, to ensure we are meeting the mission to not only recognize the talent of sports professionals, but also encourage and support youth to obtain their education thru their passion for sports.
